FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to a merchandise display for theft-proof display of merchandise.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
In commodity markets and sales, a suitable display of the merchandise has a significant impact on the sales figures and thus the success of the sales business. For example, many retail outlets and commodity markets make considerable efforts to optimize the arrangement of the shelves used to display the merchandise. The display should also serve to present the merchandise and encourage customers to buy.
A special position takes the display of merchandise in the vicinity of the cash register, where often forms a queue and the customers are easily enticed to spontaneous purchases of goods there.
Certain products are designed for other reasons in the vicinity of the cash register. Typically, for example, tobacco products such as cigarettes and / or alcoholic beverages are arranged beside or behind the cashier, so that the cashier can personally spend the goods in question after retirement control.
In cigarettes, moreover, due to their small package size in relation to the value of the goods, there is an increased theft risk. Therefore, in addition to being located near the cashier, cigarettes are typically laid out in concealable and / or lockable merchandise displays so that unauthorized access by customers can be prevented. For this purpose, some cash register systems have integrated a control mechanism in the cash register system, via which the cashier can control the cover of the goods display, or release and / or cover the goods display. The control mechanism typically includes buttons or a key switch that can be operated by the cashier.
PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION
For smaller stores with little sales staff expedient delivery devices are of particular interest. In such sales shops, one person is often responsible for a number of tasks, such as collecting or retrieving goods from the warehouse and placing them in the delivery shelves. Therefore, the situation may often arise that the cashier is not at the cash register and the goods located near the cash register, such as cigarettes, are left unattended, which further increases the risk of theft.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to improve the state of the art of anti-theft display of merchandise.
This object is achieved by a goods display with the features of the independent claim. Exemplary and / or preferred embodiments are defined in the dependent claims and in the disclosure of this document.
The invention relates to a merchandise display for theft-proof display of merchandise. This comprises a delivery opening, a cover element, a power supply device, an electromechanical closing device fed via the voltage supply device, a reading unit with a predetermined range signal-connected to the closing device, and a transmitter. The reading unit is configured to transmit a preferably electrical signal to the locking device and to wirelessly interact with the transmitter within the range. The cover element can be moved by the closing device as a function of the signal between a position releasing the delivery opening and a position covering the delivery opening.
In covering the delivery opening position, the cover of the inventive display for theft protection covers the delivery opening, so that no unauthorized access to the sales goods designed therein is possible. The delivery opening is preferably arranged on a front side of the goods display. In one embodiment, however, the delivery opening can also be arranged on the top side or laterally on the goods display.
Examples of sales were, for which a display in a merchandise display according to the invention is suitable, are tobacco products such as cigarettes, alcoholic drinks, batteries, razor blades, medicines and other merchandise with a high sales value in relation to the product size.
The cover can be moved by an electromechanical closing device, wherein the closing device can be controlled by signals, preferably electrical signals. Such a signal can be generated by the reading unit and transmitted to the closing device, so that thereby a movement of the cover in the releasing or covering position can be triggered. The reading unit and the closing device are preferably electrically signal-connected. The cover can be moved by the closing device both from the releasing position to the covering position and from the covering position to the releasing position. The movement of the cover preferably leaves free the space in front of the delivery opening. The electromechanical closing device may comprise various drives, for example, spindle drives, drive cylinders or other electric motor drives. The signal transmitted by the reading unit to the closing device is preferably an electrical signal, but may also have another form known to the person skilled in the art.
The reading unit has a range within which the reading unit can interact wirelessly with a transmitter. The range can match the cash register area within which the merchandise display is positioned, for example. Preferably, the reading unit is configured such that an electrical signal is generated in response to the interaction with the transmitter.
Optionally, the interaction between the reading unit and the transmitter can take place encrypted.
The transmitter can be active or passive. Preferably, the transmitter is a transponder.
Preferably, a specific transmitter is assigned to a specific reading unit. However, several transmitters can also be assigned to a specific reading unit. This can be advantageous if, for example, several persons are authorized to access the goods display.
The predetermined range of the reading unit is adjustable, for example by a potentiometer. This is advantageous because the range can be adjusted, for example, depending on the size of the merchandise business or the cash register area.
Alternatively or in addition, the transmitter, preferably the transponder, be configured so that thereby the range of the reading unit is modified, for example by suitable shielding and / or by the specific choice of the components of the transmitter.
For example, the reading unit may be configured to generate an electrical signal when, when the transmitter is installed or shielded, the interaction becomes so weak that the reading unit can no longer read the transmitter.
The power supply for the operation of the goods display is ensured by the power supply device.
The inventive display system has the advantage that it can be operated without contact. In particular, a release and / or cover of the delivery opening can be triggered and performed without contact. It is particularly advantageous that the release and / or cover can be triggered without contact by the sales staff who carries the reading unit associated transmitter on it. Unauthorized release and / or cover of the delivery opening by another person can be prevented.
Preferably, the merchandise display is operable independently of an additional system. As independently operable, it is understood that the goods display, apart from the power supply, can be operated free of connections or couplings to additional systems, such as a cash register system and / or a higher-level control and / or control system. An advantage of the goods display is therefore that the goods display can be operated autonomously apart from the power supply. The goods display can therefore be operated "stand-alone", and any effort for integration into a local or superordinate network, as well as all necessary interfaces can be omitted.
In one embodiment, the power supply is independent, so that the goods display is operable without any connection to another system.
The inventive display also requires no complicated configurations and can be operated in the "plug and play" principle.
In a preferred embodiment, the reading unit is configured to transmit a signal for covering the delivery opening to the closing device at an exit of the transmitter from the range of the reading unit. This offers the advantage that the display opening can be covered by the cover element as soon as the sales person carrying the transmitter has reached the range of the reading unit, e.g. the cash register area, leaves. If the sales staff leaves the checkout area, for example, to bring goods for sale out of the store, then the delivery opening can be covered automatically and without contact.
The range of the reading unit and / or the strength of the interaction between the transmitter and the reading unit may define a reading range, wherein the cover remains in the releasing position when the transmitter is within this reading range and the cover is in the covering position moves as soon as the transmitter leaves this reading area. Preferably, the reading area corresponds to the cash register area.
Preferably, the reading unit is configured to transmit at an entrance of the transmitter in the range a signal to release the delivery opening to the closing device. This has the advantage that, for example, when the sales staff returns to the cash register, the delivery opening is released automatically and without contact.
In one embodiment, the reading unit transmits an interrogation signal at intervals. The interrogation signal can be picked up by the transmitter, preferably the transponder, and trigger a response signal to the reading unit. The time intervals between successive interrogation signals is between 0.05 s and 2 s, preferably between 0.5 s and 2 s.
In one embodiment, the reading unit continuously transmits an interrogation signal.
In a variant, the goods display comprises a functionally connected to the closing device lock, wherein the cover in the covering position is closed by the lock. Thus, the cover can be additionally closed when, for example, the sales staff leaves the checkout area. The theft risk can be further reduced.
In one embodiment, the reading unit comprises a delay mechanism, which is configured to suppress the electrical signal to the closing device at a departure of the transmitter from the range and re-entry into the range within a predetermined delay time. The delay mechanism according to this embodiment has the advantage that the delivery opening of the goods display can remain released in the case of a short removal of the sales staff from the reading area. This may be the case, for example, when the sales person moves briefly from the checkout area to a shelf located at a distance in visual contact with the store of goods. Thus, unnecessary cover and release operations of the cover can be prevented.
The delay time can be adjustable, for example, between 1 s and 5 s.
According to a preferred embodiment, the power supply device comprises a power plug. By the power plug according to this embodiment, the power supply for the operation of the merchandise display is ensured. The inventive display can thus be set up and operated in a simple manner in any commodity with power supply.
Alternatively or in addition, the power supply device comprises a battery. The goods display can therefore also be operated without an external power supply, for example outdoors. A possible application area may be, for example, in or at a gas station shop.
Optionally, the goods display comprises photovoltaic elements arranged on an outside of the goods display for supplying energy. The outside with the photovoltaic elements may be the top of the merchandise display, which, in a variant, is inclined in order to make optimum use of the sun's rays.
In one embodiment, the cover is movable in the covering position in case of failure of the power supply device. As a result, it can be ensured that the delivery opening remains covered in the event of a failure of the power supply device until the failure is remedied again. This can be achieved by the fact that the goods display comprises a storage element which, in the event of a failure of the power supply device, provides the necessary energy for moving the cover element into the covering position.
According to a preferred embodiment, the transmitter comprises an RFID tag. The reading unit, preferably an RFID reader, can, in this embodiment, read the RFID tag of the transmitter within the range.
In one embodiment, the reading unit and the transmitter interact via Bluetooth.
In one embodiment, the transmitter may be integrated in a mobile phone or in a mobile device. Optionally, in this embodiment, the transmitter can be activated via an app installed on the mobile phone or on the mobile device.
The range of the reading unit is in one embodiment between 0.5 m and 6 m, preferably between 1 m and 4.5 m, more preferably between 1.5 m and 3 m. Other ranges depending on the field of application, for example in larger or smaller cash register areas, are possible.
The cover may be a roller shutter or a sliding gate. Preferably, the cover is constructed so that the path of the cover leaves the space in front of the delivery opening. The path of the cover is the path that describes the cover in the movement between the releasing position and the covering position. This is particularly advantageous for small stores with limited area, since the surface of the cover does not need to be kept free of additional surface in front of the delivery opening.
The shutter can be pushed, for example, by the closing device from bottom to top and so release the delivery opening or pushed from top to bottom and so cover the delivery opening. Preferably, the closing device and the roller shutter are configured so that the opening and closing time is less than 5 seconds. This ensures that the waiting time of a customer when buying a product designed in the display of goods is not prolonged by a long opening time. Furthermore, it is ensured that the shutter is closed quickly enough, for example, when removing the sales staff from the goods display and the risk of theft is minimized. The preferred opening and closing times can also be fulfilled in other embodiments of the cover element.
The cover may be constructed of a transparent material. This has the advantage that the displayed goods are still visible from the customer, even when the delivery opening is covered.
In one embodiment of the cover as a shutter, the shutter is made of extruded, preferably anodized. Built up aluminum.
A non-transparent cover element may be advantageous, for example, for tobacco products in situations in which a clear view of the tobacco products in the covering position is not desired, for example due to legal requirements.
The merchandise display may be constructed of one or a combination of the following materials: sheet steel, plastic, aluminum. Preferably, the goods display fulfills the protection class classification IP20. The noise level of the merchandise display is preferably below 70dbA in operation. The merchandise display is preferably designed so that it can be operated in an ambient temperature between 5 degrees to 40 degrees Celsius.
In one embodiment, buttons are attached to the transmitter, through which the closing device is controlled. The reading unit can transmit a signal to the closing device when the keys are pressed. The signal triggered by the keys may be the same signal which is triggered at the entry / exit of the transmitter from the read range of the reading unit. Optionally, the signal triggered by the keys may be different from the signal at the entrance / exit of the transmitter from the reading area and / or transmitted via a separate channel.
In a variant, keys are attached to an active transmitter, via which a movement of the cover can be triggered in the releasing position. By an exit of the transmitter from the reading area in this variant, the cover can be moved to the covering position without a button must be operated. This may be advantageous if, for example, the cover element is to be moved only actively by the sales staff by the operation of the keys in the releasing position, but should automatically move to the covering position upon exit of the sales staff from the reading area.
Optionally, the cover can be moved by the closing device in the covering position when a button is pressed on the transmitter, even if the transmitter is within the reading range. This can be advantageous if, for example, the sales staff wants to move the cover element into the covering position, even if the sales staff is in the reading area.
In a variant, keys are attached to the goods display, through which the closing device is controllable. Preferably, the closing device can be controlled via the keys only if the transmitter is within the range of the reading unit.
In one embodiment, the merchandise display includes a key switch for switching the merchandise display to an operating mode, a stand-by mode or a service mode. The operating mode is the normal mode in which the goods display is operated. In stand-by mode, the functions of the goods display can be switched off. In the service mode, preferably a transmitter can be reprogrammed, a transmitter can be coupled to the reading unit, or a transmitter can be decoupled from the reading unit.
Optionally, the merchandise display may comprise an LED display for displaying the mode. The sales staff or service personnel can thus easily and quickly recognize the current mode of the merchandise display.
The current mode of the merchandise display can optionally also be displayed on an app which is installed on a mobile telephone or a mobile device.
According to one embodiment, the goods display comprises at least one light barrier for detecting an obstacle in the path of the cover.
Optionally, the closing device comprise an interruption device, wherein upon detection of an obstacle by the at least one light barrier, the movement of the cover by the interruption device is interruptible. Blocking the goods display can thus be prevented. Preferably, the interruption device can be removed after removal of the obstacle, e.g. a commodity in the way of the cover, be switched so that a normal operation of the merchandise display is possible again.
The goods display preferably comprises trays and / or compartments for the display of goods, preferably tobacco and / or razor blades and / or batteries. It is clear to the person skilled in the art that in the goods display further goods can preferably be received with a high sales value in relation to the goods size. The merchandise display may alternatively or additionally comprise a mechanical or electromechanical fabric feed system.
In a preferred embodiment, the goods display comprises a manual closing device. The manual closing device may comprise a hand crank. The manual closing device is advantageous because the goods display remains operable even in the event of a failure of all electrical components. In such a failure, for example, by the manual closing device, a covered delivery opening can be released so that the contents of the merchandise display can be removed by the sales staff before the merchandise display is removed from the store for repair. Preferably, in the embodiment of the hand crank, the hand crank is included with the delivery of goods.
In one embodiment, the goods display has a width between 1 m and 2 m.
In one embodiment, the goods display has a height between 0.8 m and 1.6 m.
In one embodiment, the goods display has a depth between 0.2 m and 0.6 m.
In one embodiment, the goods display has a curb weight between 100 kg and 180 kg.
The transmitter is preferably associated with a specific reading unit of a merchandise display.
Optionally, multiple transmitters may be associated with a specific reader of a merchandise display. This is advantageous if, for example, several persons are authorized to access the goods display.
In a variant, a first transmitter may be a transponder and a second transmitter may be an active transmitter with buttons. The active transmitter can be operated via the keys, wherein the closing device can be controlled via the keys.
The transmitter may be an active or passive transmitter. Optionally, the transmitter includes a battery. The transmitter may, in a variant, comprise an LED display for displaying the battery level.
